ANNOUNCEMENT! The Inamed Academy 2006 Women's Leadership Conference  has moved its location to the MARRIOTT Courtyard Los Angeles at Sherman Oaks. For most of the participants and speakers, this new location is quite close to their workplace or homes.

The program will remain the same in terms of speakers, panels, and workshops, beginning promptly with lunch at noon on Thursday, March 23 and ending on Friday March 24 at 4:00 PM. New speaker announced! Marcy Carsey

We're proud to announce the addition of Marcy Carsey to our list of speakers at the upcoming Women's Leadership Conference. She will be a panelist with Patty De Dominic.

Named one of the 50 greatest women in radio and television, Emmy winner Marcy Carsey is partner and co-founder of the largest and arguably one of the most successful independent studios in television history, Carsey-Werner.

For over 20 years Carsey-Werner has been one of the leading suppliers and distributors to the worldwide marketplace. Its current hits include, That '70s Show and Grounded For Life and the company is also producing the Oxygen Network's first scripted series entitled Good Girls Don't…. With shows seen in over 175 countries and heard in 50 different languages, CW controls a library of high quality programming including the series, The Cosby Show, A Different World, Roseanne, 3RD Rock From The Sun, Grace Under Fire, Cosby and Cybill.

SPEAKERS ANNOUNCED FOR  THE 2006 WOMEN’S LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE - SHAPING POSSIBILITIES.

Patty De Dominic, CEO PDQ Personnel and CEO Executive Search. Patty is also the former President of National NWBO and LA Chamber as well as being a celebrated author. She wrote The New World of Work that tells the inspiring story of her own uphill struggle to rise to the executive ranks. Ms De Dominic believes that “The work world is chaotic, but you can’t let it overwhelm you. Keep your core values intact and you’ll be sure to succeed. Whoever hires you should get more than their money’s worth. You must always challenge yourself to be more today than you were yesterday. That way, you’ll always be in demand.”

Kristina M. Leslie, Chief Financial Officer, DreamWorks Animation SKG. Prior to becoming CFO, Kristina oversaw the corporate finance and strategic planning functions for the company, including all banking and investor relations. Since joining the company in 1996, she has been a key participant in all significant financing and investing activities, including the 2002 $1 billion asset-backed film securitization and refinanced $500 million revolving credit facility.

Judith Rosener, Professor of Business, UC Irvine and author of the book America’s Competitive Secret: Women Managers. Dr. Rosener is a well-known research analyst whose work focuses on the ways in which the differences exhibited by men versus women plays a vital role in leadership styles in management and business. Her ground-breaking article “Ways Women Lead,” published in the Harvard Business Review in 1990, introduced an idea that a “woman’s way of leading”—interactive, cooperative, inclusive, and personal—was profoundly different from the traditional male way of leading which she called “command and control.”  The article created a tidal wave of controversy among her colleagues as well as in the rank and file of business professionals.

Three focus groups have already been held to promote interest in this conference. One was held at Inamed, Inc. in Goleta and another one at DreamWorks Animation SKG in Glendale. A third focus group was held in Ventura at the Institute for Community and Professional Development, Ventura College. These focus groups have been designed to provide conference planners, Fran Lotery, Ph.D and Lois Phillips, Ph.D., with great ideas for program content that will assist regional businesses in attracting and developing women business executives.
